Another win for my father in the Madeira Half Marathon over 70s age group, in 1 hour 55 minutes. I could only manage 41.37 at the Regent’s Park 10K this morning. Still rather windy. Legs seem recovered from the ultra last month. Just lacking the speed stamina to be able to keep the pace on for the second half of the race [20.18 at 5K]. This is what I need to work on going forward.
A 14 mile long run with a faster first half is good training at this point in our marathon build up. And we all enjoyed the 8 mile jog back to Stratford along the canals. Now a nice four weeks of solid training, whilst continuing to up the quality runs.
