I’ve been reading up on, and wondering why in the UK we don’t currently have any of the BIG distance running challenges that they do in the USA? Yes there is the JOGLE [or LEJOG], yes sometimes a person will go around the coast of Britain, but we don’t seem to have anything on the scale of the Captain Barclay 1000 mile challenge in Silverton, Colorado or the annual Sri Chimnoy 3100 mile self-transcendence race in New York [or the US trans continental event].
Thinking long distance: I think I have to map out the whole of next year’s training now, although getting any straightforward training plans/advice for the planned 50 marathons in 50 days is proving rather difficult.
