Blowing a hurricane today in Jersey [due to Xmas Brussel Sprouts?] and rather drizzly off and on, so had to dodge the rain. Went up to see the local athletic club’s Xmas hill climb. Took part for the first time and surprised myself with a 9 minute 1 mile uphill [not as tiring as I had imagined, but I wasn’t pushing hard]. Then ran back into town for an undulating/mostly downhill 5 mile jog. Still surprised at how comfortable my legs feel only a week after the 50 mile race. Must be getting stronger?
Only 8 miles needed tomorrow to go through 5,000 km for the year, and then only about 100 miles behind 2012’s total, with three days remaining of the year. I am thinking of perhaps doing a 1 mile time trial on Tuesday morning before I leave for London?
