Really nice coincidence today. A quarter of the way through the Thousand Day Challenge and also the 31st anniversary of my first race; a Half Marathon in 1:42, after about 6 months since starting running [as proper running rather than just as something done playing other sports, football, rugby, hockey etc].
Been pretty much at it since then [naturally some years more jogging than others] as has my father [another ’70 something’ birthday a couple of days ago]. I’m amazed the heavy and wet through by the end of the race rugby shirt didn’t sandpaper my nipples off!? Never knew any better in those days.
It will be another marathon day plus today at 28 miles, which will mean 4 marathon days in a row, and still feeling good. 20 miles done this morning; 7 miles with a recovered Mike, so only a potter around needed tonight.
