There is a petition out from run2work asking for tax breaks on running shoes for those that run commute, but in general runners don’t seem to be very organised; in the same way as some other groups. Cyclists can get tax breaks on purchasing cycles through their place of work, there is The London Cycling Campaign, Reclaim the Streets, The annual naked bike ride, and numerous local cycling groups. The Mayor of London, himself a keen cyclist, has done much to champion cycling in the capital, but do runners get a bum deal in comparison?
Protest marches have a very long history but why no protest runs?
Maybe a Guy Fawkes masked run at Gunpowder Park parkrun in 2016 when November the 5th is a Saturday might be fun?
